TechOps Lead
Player-manager role leading a small technical operations team across a distributed, business-critical technology estate. South London, hybrid. £50,000 to £60,000.
A senior, hands-on role combining deep platform engineering expertise with technical leadership and client delivery, at a growing technology consultancy.
We’re working with a growing technology consultancy looking for an experienced Senior Platform Engineer to join its engineering practice and deliver complex cloud and platform transformation programmes for a range of clients.
This is a senior, hands-on position combining deep Platform Engineering expertise with technical leadership and client delivery. You’ll design, build and evolve secure, scalable cloud platforms while helping engineering teams adopt modern Platform Engineering, DevOps and DevSecOps practices.
You’ll also have the opportunity to influence technical standards, mentor engineers and contribute to the continued development of the wider engineering capability.
You’ll work across complex client environments, taking ownership of Platform Engineering engagements from technical discovery and architecture through to implementation, troubleshooting and ongoing improvement.
The role remains highly hands-on. You’ll work extensively across AWS, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD, building reusable platform capabilities that improve reliability, security and developer experience.
Alongside engineering delivery, you’ll provide technical leadership to other engineers, work directly with senior client stakeholders and help shape technical solutions for new and existing engagements.
Salary: £90,000 to £100,000 depending on experience.
Location: London, hybrid. A combination of remote and client-site working, with regular travel to client sites across the UK and Europe.
Benefits: private medical insurance, enhanced pension, performance-related bonus, life insurance, EV scheme and 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays.
This is a strong opportunity for a senior engineer who wants to remain deeply technical while taking on broader responsibility for technical leadership and client delivery.
You’ll work across varied and technically challenging environments, have significant autonomy over the solutions you deliver and play an active role in shaping engineering standards and ways of working as the practice continues to grow.
The position would particularly suit someone comfortable operating as a trusted technical advisor: equally capable of getting hands-on with a difficult Kubernetes or AWS problem and discussing architecture, risk and delivery strategy with senior stakeholders.
