Senior Infrastructure Engineer, Migration and Separation.

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a major infrastructure migration and separation programme.

This is a hands-on, project-focused role responsible for the technical delivery of complex Microsoft tenant, identity, cloud and datacentre migration activities.

You’ll take infrastructure workstreams from discovery and design through to migration, cutover, validation and handover, working across internal technical teams, suppliers and senior stakeholders.

What you will do

• Deliver Microsoft 365 and Azure tenant-to-tenant migrations
• Design and implement Microsoft Entra ID, hybrid identity and Active Directory migration solutions
• Plan and deliver datacentre and workload migration activities
• Complete technical discovery, dependency analysis and migration readiness assessments
• Produce technical designs, migration plans, implementation runbooks, test plans and rollback procedures
• Coordinate technical cutovers, validation and transition into operational support
• Identify and manage technical risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies
• Work across internal engineering teams and third-party suppliers to resolve complex migration challenges
• Translate technical issues into clear options, risks and recommendations for programme stakeholders

What we are looking for

• Strong hands-on experience delivering complex infrastructure migrations within enterprise environments
• Microsoft 365 and/or Azure tenant-to-tenant migration experience
• Strong Microsoft Entra ID, hybrid identity and Active Directory migration or consolidation experience
• Datacentre migration, workload relocation or infrastructure separation experience
• Strong understanding of migration discovery, planning, cutover, rollback and post-migration validation
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 infrastructure services
• Experience across virtualisation, storage, backup, enterprise networking and infrastructure security
• Experience working within large, multi-supplier transformation programmes
• Strong technical documentation, planning and workshop facilitation skills
• Confident communicating with both senior stakeholders and deep technical specialists
• Previous experience working on business separation, carve-out, merger or acquisition programmes would be particularly valuable

The package

Rate: up to £500 per day.

IR35: outside IR35.

Duration: initial 3 months.

Location: London and South East. Hybrid, with around 2 days per week onsite.
